Hello all!
I have a 10 gallon dwarf sea horse tank with several varieties of macroalgae, along with a couple dwarf pipefish, some sexy shrimp, and a pair of lettuce sea slugs. The tank has been thriving, but yesterday I believe I found an aiptasia anemone. I didn't grab a picture of the first one, simply pulled it out of the tank. While searching for more, I found an odd, transluscent blob on the glass as well. I went to pull it out, but to my surprise the moment I touched it, it moved away from the tweezers rather quickly. It is quite mobile, and either moves all over, or I have several that I see at different times. I've spotted it a couple times in various places. Thinking about it, I began to wonder if it could be a baby lettuce sea slug. All pictures I can find show them much larger and already having their green color established. I posted the best video I could get of it, sorry it's so fuzzy. Can anyone confirm if it is a lettuce sea slug baby, or something else I should be concerned about?
As for the possible aiptasia, I found another one today and removed it as well. However, I grabbed some pictures of it first. All seahorses seem to be doing well, but I did have some new members of my herd born just yesterday. They're so tiny I worry about their survival if they come into contact with any of these anemones(?). Any advice on safe ways to remove them from a dwarf seahorse tank?
