Alex - amazing tank. I just went through the whole thread. It looks like the tank continues to evolve as your passion for certain corals grows. I am very curious as to whether you still have all the clams in there and where you have them placed. I also noticed a flame angel in your tank in some of the earlier pics. Has he behaved?

Thanks a lot for your kind words!

My clams did not survive through the journey. Only left with one deresa. Mostly I attribute the e casualty to my lack on proper placement(on sand :(, and a previously mischievous green wrasse which I took 10 days to trap..

My flame angel seems to have behaved throughout almost 4 years.. but I do noticed stressed Zoas disappearing.. n he’s e prime suspect..

What color/brand of lamps are you running?

Thanks

Ati sunpower 3 blue plus 2 coral plus and 1 purple plus.

Led supplement is a china brand called KEY. Pretty good penetration and spectrum for its price. Probably due to its cree bulbs :)

It has been a while since I last updated this thread. Main reason, which is known to few, was that my tank suffered a major power trip for 20 hours while I was overseas in Jan.

Realized that webcam is inaccessible, and by the time help was sent, it was too late. My fishes in my display tank probably died first because of the stagnant water and lack of oxygen. That probably lack to an ammonia spike and with the raising temperature, all my sps was wiped out. So this was the result.

The only consolation was most of my soft corals and lps survived..

Having getting over my losses of my 4 years old fish and sps colonies, I decided to pick myself up and salvage what’s left..

After shifting my surviving corals to 4 different tanks. I did a 90% water change. Mixing 600litres of water was really tough...

The water cleared up after a few hours..

But it took me a month or so to ensure that the tank is stable before I shifted my corals back.. introducing fishes was another headache when I need to battle with ich issues again..

One thing I know for sure from this lesson, is the importance of battery backups, and black out alerts.. so fellow reefers, do make sure you spurge some money to buy a piece of mind..

By the way, the OG bounce fever has reached the shores of Singapore, or at least my tank hehe. Sharing a natural split progress of one of my collection!

Just read through your whole thread. Every page and picture I just kept saying wow. Then turn to the page with the devastating loss. And just went...noooooooooo!!! I'm so sorry for that loss. But seems your well on your way to getting back to former glory and beauty.

What have you changed since then to help prevent this from happening again??

And what is the cost of corals there compared to the US? It also seems that when you got new piece they weren't the 1in frags we get here.
