They are very soft and they do appear to be building on eachother I only have them on this frag and alittle bit on the rock by it. Not sure if they come off easy was going to pull the frag out tommorow and peroxide dip. Did yours go away? I found these after i came back from vacation and my tank had obviously been over fedI believe I had these in my system at one point. Are they very soft, can they be blown off with a baster? Do they build up on top of each other and along glass if left untouched?
No ill effects at all? I may need to try this. I have them on my rocks too. They don’t seem to really bother anything. You can only see them if you look super close on rocks near the glass.I was able to remove them using calcium carbonate powder. I mixed a tablespoon up with tank water, and dosed it to the tank. It’s a bit scary looking, but the none of my corals or livestock care. I like to do it at night, it’s gone by morning. If you use filter socks you’ll need to clean them. I use a Klir, so not a big deal for me. I do this now every other week or so. It’s a good physical cleansing. It will help with cyano too. Make sure you don’t get much buildup on your power heads and your return pump, I clean them in citric acid.
Nice! Which powder did you use and how much would I use for a 90gal?no issues, aside from a little bit more maintenance on the return pump and power heads. Some sps, mostly small colonies growing out in frag systems.
