Trying to ID algae in the tank. Fairly new, suppose I’m going through the uglies but want to make sure something doesn’t get out of hand. Noticed in the past week. 2 clowns and a blenny for stocking. A hammer and 2 small zoa frags for coral. Any help would be appreciated.
Temp-77.4
Salinity- 1.026
Ammonia-0
Nitrite-0
Nitrate-2
Ph- 8.0
Mag- 1400
Phosphate- .03
Kh- 8.0
Calcium- one test is showing 400(Red Sea) other is showing 525(Hanna), trying to figure this one out myself.

Filament algae. Reduce white light intensity and add some snails such as a few:
Turbo
ASTREA
nerite
Cerith
Trochus

8 blue leg hermit crabs

If you can remove the rock, you can scrub it with toothbush and hydrogen peroxide

Could be diatoms. The best way to diagnose algae is a microscope. This one will do the job perfectly.

Looks like I will have to get the scope. Is it easy to take pictures through the lense?

I have reduced whites starting today.
I have
5 ceriths
2 trochus
3 nassarius
Is that too small of a cleanup for a 16?
Not really wanting hermits to possibly nip coral

Alright folks, trying to bump this up now that I have looked at it with a microscope. Pictures will be displayed but don’t be too harsh, I haven’t used one of these since middle school. If they are not pictures that will help, please explain what I need to be looking for to get better pictures.
