I ended up returning the microscope I got so I am unable to get another slide. But should I keep the carbon I have in my reactor or get rid of it? and what would be carbon dosing?

Carbon dosing is using vodka/vinegar/sugar or similar to fuel bacterial growth and decrease nutrients. Bad if you have dinos. I would run activated carbon as long as you see dinos that are toxic or as long as you see coral stress.

I have started too. 1ml. Per 3 gallons of 3% hydrogen peroxide. There was a guy on here who used 33% food grade at 1ml. Per 10 gallons. And had success with no casualties.

Carbon dosing will only fuel the dino as will light. Reactor likely has dino in the chamber. To recall:
Prepare by starting with a water change and blow this stuff loose with a turkey baster and siphon up loose particles.
Turn lights off (at least white and run blue at 10-15%) for 5 days and at night dose 1ml of hydrogen peroxide per 10 gallons for all 5 nights. If you dont have light dependent coral- turn all lights off.
During the day dose 1ml of liquid bacteria (such as bacter 7) per 10 gallons.
Clean filters daily and DO NOT FEED CORAL FOODS OR ADD NOPOX as it is food for dinos.
Day 5,, you can start with blue lights - ramping up and work your white lights up slowly

So far so good - dinos look almost gone - I'll post a FTS tomorrow when I turn up the white lights

Just throwing my 2 c in here: how's your cleanup crew as far as variety and volume? Lots of snails and inverts snack on this. I'm sure it's not the solution, but perhaps increasing your crew? Forgive me if I am missing or glossing over anything.

I think the tank is looking better! Your tank looks to be around 20-30 gallons, nless my eyes are playing tricks on me. In my opinion maybe two or three turbo snails wouldnt hurt. And some substrate stirring snails will help with future settling debris. As the algae dies back some other easier to deal with undesirable may take place with elevated nutrients.

A team of 10-20 turbo snails will help keep the hair algae in check. And some substrate stirring snails will help with future settling debris. Only a 25 gallon tank, the hair algae I am just going to blast away with some hydrogen peroxide

Tank just looks like garbage, I think the dinos are gone but my corals look atrocious and I have weird brown algae on the rocks.

Here are my parameters
9.7 alk
488 Cal
Nitrates 2.5ppm
Phosphates 0
Salinity 1.025

I’ll also post my light schedule, also I am still running a UV and no filtration except for some filter pads
