Hi everyone
I am planning my first reef tank with algae Scrubber.
I have a few questions
Should I feed my ATS using drain line? Or Is it a bad idea?
If I use a pump for my ATS, do I pump water before skimmer or after skimmer?
For the ATS drain water, should I direct it to my main return chamber?

Thanks you all

Mine sits in the middle section of my sump(old refugium section). I would not run it off the drain line as you cannot effectively adjust the flow over the screen. I run mine of a dedicated pump before my skimmer, and drain back into the middle section of the sump.

I have a dedicated pump (s1) in my DT that feeds my two ATS. My ATS sit on my hang-on back refugium that is located above my DT. They drain in to the refugium which in turn drains into the DT.

Not your usual setup.

anyway you do it works as long as you allow yourself the ability to alter the flow as needed and reduce bubbles going into the DT.
