Just did the first cleaning of the turf scrubber screen. It's working beautifully. That was a nice thick amount of algae! Huge thanks to Josh@ClearWaterScrubbers

Another cleaning. Another huge mass of algae. Love this ATS.

So this unit works awesome, but it may be undersized for my application so I think I will be upgrading soon. Right now I'm having to clear the screen every 5 days! :D

Are you getting the same brand but larger scrubber?

Unfortunately no as CW doesn’t make a scrubber any bigger than the 300 which I already have. I have one on order still with turbo that is larger so that’s what I’ll be using. I may move the CW to my QT system or sell it used.

We can build you a bigger one if need be. Just give me a shout and we’ll design what you need! That’s nuts that it’s growing that fast every five days!

Yea and when I say 5 days I mean like by day 6 it's blocking a lot of the water coming through LOL. Thanks for the heads up on building a larger one, I think I'm ok for now. When I expand I may be coming your way, as my next expansion would give me 3 more frag tanks. :D

PS. I have picked up two CW scrubbers from BRS for a few local customers I do aquarium service work for, and installed them into their sumps, and they are working great. :)

Awesome, we can set up a wholesale account for you for those types of customers too.

Let me see what I can do to stop that problem from happening. Might be that a quick piece inserted in there will help stop that and also not limit the flow.

Do they have light blockers to protect the spray bar from getting clogged? If not Turbo sales light blockers that fit any 3/4 inch pipe. I added that to mine and it helps.

I think he’s talking about the drain not the slot pipe.

No I actually do mean the slot pipe. The algae grows up into the slot and blocks the flow. :D

That's what was happening to mine, so far the light blocker is making a big difference, also its pretty cheap and easy to cut to size.

Try increasing the flow a bit. I’ve never had that problem on mine. But I run a double 300 and put about 1400gph over the screens.

    I have a jebao 4000 at 100% already. :( I'd have to change to a larger pump.

That’s cheaper than a new scrubber. Lol. Let me see what I can do about the slot pipe

I spent like 14$ of a light blocker, definitely worth it!

Pump doesn't fix the main problem though which is I still get massive thick algae in only 5-6 days haha. I'd still have to be cleaning it just as much. I need more screen surface area.
