Anyone else notice when you start getting to the bottom of the bottle the results start trending upwards? Noticed it the last couple of bottles I go through.

10-2 had 138 ppm
10-3 had 145 ppm
10-4 had 151 ppm

Open a new bottle and retest right after the 151 and I get...139.

that is almost within the 5% up or down accuracy of the device. (more like 6%)
But i never noticed that in my testing although i have a bottle near empty, i will test it tomorrow against a brand new bottle and compare and post results.

I've just noticed it, I can go back in my logs and see the trend. I aim to test every day, but that doesn't always happen. I've learned to not mess with my doser when I see the upward trend and I'm near the end of the bottle. otherwise I'll test with the new bottle and it'll be super low.

I'm kind of at the well it's just a quirk of the device / reagent (and I'm cool with that) or I'm doing something and I haven't a clue what that is!

I just got the Alk hanna and I have been shaking the reagent before each use. I've only used it 4 times but perhaps the solution is settling down to the bottom?

I've never noticed this and I've been using one for years (testing daily). How are you cleaning your syringe and are you letting it fully dry in between? I keep syringes from past bottles so each syringe is cleaned with r/o and dried for at least a couple days between uses. Also, the syringe tends to hold liquid below the plunger, so I pull the syringe apart when cleaning to dry as much as possible.

The alkalinity reagent is very pH sensitive so if anything gets inside the bottle it could alter results. Make sure saltwater does not accidentally get inside your reagent bottle or do not leave the cap undone for prolonged periods of time.
