Hello everyone, first time I get to start a tank thread from the start. I've been dreaming, envisioning, wishing, for an upgrade from my Cadlights 39 Gallon for over a year. I thought I did my homework and planned out everything. At first I wanted a Lee Mar 48x30x20 rimless. Then I decided to go a 48x30x24. Then I thought well if my tank is going to stay at work, then this is going to be too big for my office. So I finally decided to go with 36x24x24. After purchasing the tank and sump and I was sitting on it for a while, I concluded that I needed go to a little bigger. Sooo I sold that tank and now I have a Lee Mar 42x30x24 rimless, 3 side starfire tank. That's it and that's what I'm going to go with. For sure.

So here is a list of the equipment I have managed to purchase over the last year.

Tank: Lee Mar 42x30x24 rimless, 3 side starfire, corner internal overflow
I decided to go with this size tank in the effort to use a 36" fixture to conserve energy. I like the height of 24", it give the fish more freedom to occupy different area of the water column. Also, I'd like to keep the upper part of the tank a high flow area for sps, while giving the bottom area low flow for my acans and mushroom collection.

Stand and Canopy: SPS Coral Store Custom Aluminum Stand and Canopy
Aaron at the SPS Coral Store has been great through the process of custom building my stand and canopy. I knew I wanted to go with a steel stand of some kind. After interviewing me, and picking my brain as to what I wanted he was able to pull out the vision I had. I love his detail and throughness. He asked many questions that other people did not. After talking with Aaron it was a no brainer who I was going to use. Below is the prototype he made for me. It will be painted white, looking forward to getting it very soon. Hopefully this weekend!

Sump: AA Custom 29x20x16
The sump will have a 7" filter sock, probe holders, dosing holders, fuge, and return pump section.

Lighting: ATI Dimmable Sunpower 8x39 T5 Fixture
Bulb Configuration: 4 ATI Blue Plus, 1 KZ Fiji Purple, 2 ATI Pure Actinic, 1 Giesemann Actinic Plus. I'm not sure the exact location of each bulb yet since my previous fixture was a 6 bulb, I will get to play around with 8 bulbs. I do have an ATI Coral Plus and an Aqua Blue Special bulb I'll be playing with to see if I can use them. I would love to play with Reef Brite LED strip too.

Return Pump: Speed Wave DC-5000

I decided to use this pump because I can control the flow and it's low power consumption.

Heater: Coralvue 500 Watt Titanium

ATO: JBJ (although I may switch to the Tunze)

Doser: Bubble Magnus (Dosing B Ionic A and B, Kent Marine Magnesium)

Circulation Pumps: MP40ES and 2 Tunze 6045 adjustable

Skimmer: ATB 840 V2

Controller: Apex

Rock: BRS Pukani Dry Rock

Sand: Fiji Pink

YES!!!! Just get the Tunze Osmo and be done with it. Best there is. Proven reliability.

You are correct, and I should. I bought the JBJ quite some time ago. I will make the investment on a better ato.
