So I have a 29 gallon tank with sump. Not a biocube, but a standard tank. I have a large fuge in my sump. Currently I have a pair of clowns and a firefish. I have always wanted a diamond watchman goby. I know how they can cause sandstorms and move corals, but I have been wanting one for the past 5 years since I joined the hobby. This tank was in a way planned around one. Could I add one or would it be too much for the tank. I have plenty of live rock and a lot of bio balls for biological filtration so I don’t think that would be a problem.

I think you would be fine, your stocking seems low compared to my Tanks lol.

if your biological filtration can handle it- which sounds like it can I personally would go for it.

good luck my friend. And happy reefing.

ps- would love to see a photos of your set up.

Pretty basic setup. Not that many corals yet, but I have started to add some and just added a small anemone yesterday. You won’t see the fish as I made a stupid mistake of not quarantining and I’m doing a 76 day fallow period of ich which is coming to an end very soon and I want to buy the goby to add to my qt when the fish are out. The coral on the sand bed will be glued so that the goby doesn’t bother it. It fell of the rocks and doesn’t seem bothered I try to avoid putting my hands in the tank.
My sump is basic with lots of chaeto and no skimmer. Budget isn’t an issue I just don’t have space and don’t want added equipment. If I really wanted one I could add one but the tank has been doing fine with 20% water changes every other week.
