Some more footage from the TN ......

Here a ciliate in a VERY CLOOOOOSE UP

This is a sample of a sick Acro, smushed and crushed and then under the scope, you can see the green stained microbe which does not belong into the tissue apparently as well plenty of ZooX, the Corals loaded Nematocysts and plenty of other active bacteria ......

Here a footage of a sick Acro, showing the deteriorating tissue with a green unidentified microbe (stained) which I thought for a while to be part of the TN in corals........

You can see the brown dots which are ZooX that lost their symbiosis to the coral itself.

Here a very rare to see (maybe the first time recorded evidence), of a pathogen, intruding a ZooX and eating it from the inside. I have seen this happening on a few corals that were dying, but this was the best video capture. Look at the 11o'clock position which is the clearest one to see at work.....

Hows that skimmer working out with the mods?
Well, I had to install 2 feeder pumps. One VarioS8 and a MAG18 to keep sufficient performance for right now.
However since corals are literally exploding again now I just got a new pump in which I need to install to replace the 2 old pumps.
I want to avoid running into TN again and need with this tall skimmer more head on the pumps.

So I hope this guy does the job ;-)

Where do you get those cups from?
That's what a few local people near me use when I buy corals. You can pick them up from Amazon, at this URL.

They come in handy when dipping and inspecting corals. I use them to mix fish foods with medications when necessary, and I use them to mix coral & fish foods with water before adding it to the tank; it allows pellets to soften up a bit and soak up Selcon.
