Hello. My anemone has been searching for a new spot over the past couple of weeks after some bullying by a shrimp at its last spot. It ended up in the upper corner of the tank where there wasn’t a lot of light and not sure how well it would eat. But I’ve always taken the view that it will settle where it’s comfortable.

This morning I found it laying on the sand. Parameters of the tank are

salinity 1.026
Alk 8.4 dKh
NO3 7-ish
Phos 0
Ca 450
Mag 1350
Temp 79

I want to wait it out for 24 hours but reaching out for any thoughts. Thanks in advance. Sorry but the pic is sideways

kind of the same thing happened to me last week with my red bta. It started ejecting white stuff so I flushed it. My other anemones we’re doing fine so I assumed it was dying. Keep me updated please.

It should find a spot that it likes on its own. I have had a few that always tend to wander in my anemone tank. You can always move it if you think it is in a bad spot or in danger. Pretty easy to get of the glass undamaged.

Is his foot on the glass? If so I would leave it be, it will move. We have some that travel all over the tank at all levels from time to time. If he's not attached I would turn the powerheads off and place it on the rocks so it can reattach. It doesnt look sickly from what I can see.

@Reeftard123 @KCAS @hdsoftail1065 -- thanks for your thoughts. It's reattached itself to the glass so I'm going to let it be for now. Probably focus on feeding it a piece of shrimp to make sure it's fed, but my concern is whether or not it's getting enough light. I haven't really thought about it, but do anemones need a lot of light?

You don't need to feed it. It will be fine. Just turn off the powerheads do it doesn't get sucked in

Best thing to do is to not feed it until it’s completely settled in and staying put

So here’s an update. The anemone has found its way back to the glass and up to the corner where it was last night. Really not sure what to think but for now I’m just going to leave it alone. Thanis for everyone’s advice!

If you find it detached again, I would move it into a more optimal spot in the tank. Sand looks pretty clean.

Thanks @Cell I'll definitely do that as it continues to pick dark corners away from light and flow.

I'd leave it alone. It'll go where it's happy regardless of where you want it to be. All you can do is tick it off.

Moving him will surely not help at all.
Once the nem has attached itself, you should never touch him again.

So update on the nem. It’s still in the darker corner but to everyones point. Unless it starts to look ill or something I’m just going to let it be. See what happens over time.

Thanks all for your thoughts. Much appreciated!
