My take caught ich about two weeks ago. I took 5 days to drop salinity from 1.025 to 1.009 over a 4 day period. My emperor angel had ICI pretty bad but it cleared in a couple days. Now he is getting these larger “pimple” like growths and his sides have wavy lines like lesions or something. Any ideas?

Is it still in 1.009 water?
I would suspect the sites where ich attached to the fish have to heal, maybe those are the healing parts.

Yes the water is still at 1.009. All the other fish are fine. He just seems to be getting worse

Dude I don't think they are supposed to be in that salinity long term... where did you get that procedure? It affects their homeostasis... like a person become dehydrated or unable to eliminate ammonia etc. That's a brackish salinity...

I prefer copper over hyposalinity, but since it is in hypo, you'll need to keep it there for four weeks, or bring it out of hypo and start copper. The spots I see are likely a localized skin reaction to the ich trophonts. I can't see the wavy lines you mentioned. Is it still eating well? How do the other fish look?

There’s numerous videos on YouTube talking about keeping fish in hyposalinity for 4-6 weeks to kill of the ich cycle and they specifically all say to keep the salinity between 1.008-1.010 for the duration. He eats very well 4 times a day. The other fish look fine

As long as that emperor is eating you should be golden. Probably just lesion scars. You should see the scar on my leg from a hiking accident. Happened two years ago and it’s nice and purple. I’m healthy as can be. Hypo works well just make sure he’s fed nutrient dense food and he’ll pop out just fine. Beautiful fish

Thank you! He’s actually looking better.
