Announcement: My own-builded KH-machine is ready!

    Hello all reefers

    I am happy to be able to announce that my own-builded KH-monitor-and-regulating machine is now ready and works surprisingly nice! Since 3 weeks back it is in the sump-area and testing in "Sharp"-drift 24/7.

    I have during this autumn tried to build a machine which measure (and already in this prototype regulate a little) Alkalinity automatically. I am done now, the machine is ready and happy to declare after a few weeks testing (around 400 measurement so far) that the precision seems to be around 0.05dKH, and resolution is 0.02dKH.

    My machine has a very low running cost, of course depending on how often you measure, but taken the ”reagens” in count it will cost around 5-10 Euro/month if you measure 12 measures/24 h.

    Well, here is some picture not revealing too much;-)

    I have learned a lot of the diagrams and curve I already got from now measuring 12-24 times a day automatically:)

    The biggest task for me have been the coding part, as I am not a professional programmer. I have learned a lot, and worked on this nearly day and night the last 8 weeks, and now is glad to announce this, that I am done and it is working, also with that precision:)

    I have only very briefly demonstrated it on a lecture I gave at a marine-museum in Gothenbourg, at the University of Gothenbourg.

    I am openminded for getting this machine to a commercial product, as I think the market is very ready for this. My philosophy is that it must not be too expensive, but still with high precision. It seems that I have succeded so far. This is my first announcement of this prototype. I have some extra parts with ability to quick make a version 2.0 with further fine-adjustments.

    This is great. Hope you can commercialize it. There's already the KHGuardian hitting the market, and Apex will probably be releasing theirs soon. Give the big fishes some much needed competition. One idea is to sell it as a kit, with separate components that you put together, so that people buying it are ones who have some DIY skills and can make it work and troubleshoot as needed.

    the more that are out on the market the cheaper it is for us consumers a diy thread would be great or I selling it to never have to work again would be fine as well
