Tank progressing nicely. This week I will add another fish, thinking on the 6 line wrasse or a Lawnmower Blenny, depending what the LFS has.

Lights are running very low, only 5w and for 4 hours, mainly to enjoy the fish.

Something that I did not expected, today I counted about 8 very tiny feather duster. Not sure where they cam from since I started with dead rocks and sand!

lol, best part of my tank. Going tomorrow, but its so easy now that I only need 12g. The first trip was hard since I needed over 40g.

Yeah! cool that you have that option. To have a boat in LA.... the cost would just be to insane lol.

I'd bring some fishing rods and make a day of it myself! :D

Awesome thread! I collected some NSW (New Port Richey) at the shore during high tide, didn't like what I collected, yellow water.

excited to see how this works out!

Thanks! Yeah, hard from shore. We make it out until about 25' deep. So far water has been very stable. The first batch, I filtered with a sock, but stop doing that since it did not filter much.

what does your sea water come in at parameter wise?

Mine is 7.4 ALK 430 CA 1350 Mag .5 nitrate .08 - 0.1 phosphate.
Here is what I got on my last trip. But I tested after the water change.
Calcium 430, Alk 7.4, Mag 1330, Pho .08, Nitrate 3ppm.

This week I added another utilitarian fish, the Six-line wrasse. No pictures yet, still a bit shy. Also, did another water change. Was hoping for 10 gallons but ended up only with 8. The boat ride was pretty...exciting with a tropical storm out there. This time I decided to test the new/source water before to see what it was and the nitrate was no more than 3ppm and the pho was .08.

Also. started to see what I think are Diatoms, a sign of progress;-)
