Hi all,

I have a group of Anthias (2 lyretail, 3 purple queen) in QT that I bought 3 days ago. I noticed yesterday that one has a spot on its side (pic attached). At first I thought it was ich but now I think it might be an injury of some kind. Would anyone be able to advise what this might be and if I should treat it?

It is active and swimming around the tank but didn't eat today. I fed mysis with garlic and the others ate well.

For reference the tank was set up clean, water parameters seem to be good. Salinity at 1.026, Temp at 78F.

Thanks!

Unfortunately, this morning when I woke up it was already dead.

I did look up uronema when I first noticed it and it didn't seem as red as the photos I saw but it could have been.

Sorry for your loss. Uronema parasite can attack unseen in the gills doing tremendous damage very quickly before the tell tale sores and then redness of the sores develops. Once the redness presents it's often more humane to euthanize the fish as recover is remote possibility.

Thanks for the info!

So far the others look ok. But I’m thinking I should probably start treating the tank with Metroplex right?
