Hi guys, just started the tank for the first time to look for leaks etc...

The return pipe seems to have some type of a siphon breaker I believe: that is making so much noise, for the time being I placed filter wool around it to stop the splashing noice coming from it. I have uploaded a video its a aqua one 300, any ideas what can be done about it ?

It does appear to be a siphon break. I'd throw a filter sponge-type material on it but keep it as it is a good thing to have. Alternately, and better, in my opinion, you can plug it and put a hole in the tank side of the return just below the water level. Just make sure it stays clear of growth since the hole will be underwater all the time and susceptible to clogging rendering it useless.
