sweet ride, love the storage capacity. I've always thought those paddle ones to be a clever design. No issues leaking over time?
No leaks. The insert holes for the propulsion systems are strong. The fins flatten up against the bottom by alternating and holding the pedals if your in shallow waters. The only negative is that if you go with paddle kayakers, you have to wait for them.

I lived in Salem MA for a couple years and really enjoyed kayak fishing for stripers out on the ocean there. I never caught any keepers, just a bunch of schoolies, but it sure is beautiful out there. I haven't been out on that water in a couple years and have really been eager to, especially recently.

My kayak is just a junk sit on top rotomold job but it gets the job done if you are smart about it and are a decent paddler. I would love a pedal one or even a well equipped fishing kayak but they stupid expensive as mentioned above.

One of these years I will actually follow through with building a stich and glue wooden kayak. I have one modeled up and everything.

That sounds interesting! I just bought a brand new dagger katana two weeks ago to start exploring whitewater boating. Take it out for it's maiden voyage last Thursday. Boy was that an eye opener! Ended up being a crazy adventure and accidentally went thru class III+ rapids for the first time lol. Trial by fire!

Awesome, you made it back though! The only time I have been through any type of rapids was on a raft through class II+/III, it was a blast.

Oh ya, just returned home from a kayaking trip to the Northwoods, Wi. Spent a day on the flambeau, two days on the manotowish river and two days in the Sylvania Wilderness area in the Ottawa National Forest. Excellently time. We’ve got a pair on Wilderness Pungo 120’s, which replaced a couple of old tavelers (Dagger Edisto, and another i forget the name. Good stuff.

That's awesome! Water is getting a little low around here, need some rain! You find any rapids on the stretches you hit?

yes, try the north flambeau (dam fed), directly out of the flowage, down to Agenda Landing, some medium rapids, awesome scenery. Favorite trip.

here's the problem I have with kayaks, they've no keel/ 4 feet is what Id prefer. The year was 2006 Im in Austin for a wedding/someone elses lol. They r renting 15 min kayak rides on the colorado, across from holiday inn. I take myself and my six year old child who is a trained water swimming dolphin/ otter child.

we board the kayak fully clothed, and dry.

within two seconds we're both upside down and it doesnt self-right like in the movies. I reach back underwater, grab my daughter by the scruff of the clothes, arm rip her out of the seat and thrust directly up so she heads towards surface. i wasnt worried about the submersion dunk we're not water panicky, it was getting her out in time. after launching the child upwards I then wrestled myself out lol and my glasses and wallet but thankfully not keys are still in the bottom of that river, and kayaks need keels. when we walked into the hotel lobby it was clear to others what had occurred. I still dont know the cause, if you're not allowed to lean one degree on a kayak then it sounds like a very rigid venture lol

Hilarious story, glad you both survived.

Fun end of the year outting last night here in Wisconsin! 22 of us set sail on our kayaks around 9pm... Decked out with glow sticks, kayaks were doused as well for effect. Did a 14 mile paddle until around 2am. We added a little fun and fabricated deck gun mounts on several of our bigger boats for launching 5"mortars and almost everyone was armed with roman candles etc... It was a blast. The mortar launch really compresses the boats into the water., You can feel it in your chest too. Maybe that's cuz you're only sitting less than 2 feet from it lol but whatever, it was gorgeous seeing those blasts over the river at night.

Regular season is quickly coming to an end though there are a few of us that will go this winter in wet or dry suits.
