Hello, I’ve had this gsp for about 3 months. I moved it for the first time in a while since I keep it on the sand and saw this stange growth on it. It’s kinda flexible/soft and has a slight green florescence. It’s hard to get an accurate picture of it

Almost looks like a plating montipora, but the flexibility confuses me

Huh, still not seeing what you are talking about.. I do see a couple of GSP polyps extending, with green on them, however, I don't see anything in that pic that isn't GSP, sand and algae.

That looks like some very sickly GSP though

I really don't see anything but your GSP polyps. If you are talking about the gray stuff at the bottom that looks like it's kind of flat, that's how the GSP grows/spreads. It will spread out from the edges and cover anything. If you don't want it to spread put it on an island. The only other thing I can see on there is the hair algae which can be fixed with nutrient control or chemical intervention.

I’m getting the nutrients down. The frozen food I was feeding was attributing to the algae.
When the gsp grows out what color is the edges?

The edges are kinda grayish-purple on mine. Kind of a pretty color, IMO.
Ok mines like a grey-green right at the edges to purple. Like the edges are what glow-in-the-dark paint looks like in the light. Like that tinge of green to it. And under blue lights it’s a pale fluorescent green
