At first i thought it was GHA, and i do believe i have some of it in my system, but this stuff around my zoas seems to look a little more brown. It doesn't seem to be bothering my branch hammers, torches, or ricordea mushrooms; in fact, they look awesome and are growing like crazy. It is messing with my palys a little, but nothing like what it's doing to my zoas. I lost one the other day and the other 2 frags aren't doing well.

I have no fish and a small cuc of 5 hermit crabs. I just added a cuc from reef cleaners: 15 dwarf ceriths, 6 Nassarius, 6 florida ceriths, 4 nerites, and 5 more hermits. They seem to be helping, along with scubbing the rock.

My water parameters are:
ammonia: 0
Nitrites: 0
Nitrates: 5ppm
PH: 8.2
Phosphate: .01 or 0
Alk: 9.0
Cal: 470
Mag: 1600
Salinity: 1.026

Don’t add a sea hare unless you do proper research. It has the ability to release toxins into your system.
How old is your tank? 0 nitrates and 0 phosphates will lead to other types of nuisance problems.

I don't have 0 nitrates. I have no fish at this point, and won't add any until i set up my new tank which is arriving today. My current tank has been running for 5 months. Like i said, everything looks great except a couple of zoas; and as of this morning they are starting to come out better than they have in the last week. With the addition of a bigger cuc, UV sterilizer and carbon (i started these yesterday), and scrubbing the rocks, it seems to be getting better.

I'm feeding my corals reef roids twice a week and I was considering dosing phosphates, but i'm going to hold off for now and see how things go before doing too many things too quickly. And no sea hare is going into my system.

thx for your thoughts.
