good to know I have not looked into them much but had the thought a while back but if I do go FW it would be a planted tank. I have all the stuff for a height tech" 40br bit the GF sand there is a limit on tank I can have. I think a planted would balance out the reefs tho.

I am excited for you and to see lots of pics of the 142! let us know when you get it!
Thanks! Should be here within a week, can’t wait

My Fiji Cube 81G EXT came in. Communication during this entire process was A+.

My overall impression of the tanks combo is overally pretty darned high quality. The display tank looks pristine, the plywood stand looks fantastic, the sump is clean and functional, and it comes with schedule 80 plumbing accessories. Even the ATO and ATO lid is made from 8mm low-iron glass! They did not cut any corners with this setup. The only downside is the kit doesn't come with pre-glued plumbing.

Hey, did the sUmp come with instructions? I’m a little nervous about the plumbing as this will be my first sump after years of canisters. Was hoping for a silent bean animal or Bernie setup with mine

@xiaoxiy @Mppp how did you all plumb your returns? I figured out the drain will be a Herbie, the INT has 2 1” holes.
I'm not exactly clear on what your question is. I used a hybrid of hard and soft plumbing on my return lines. I have a section of soft plumbing that goes from the return pump to the return bulkhead of the sump, and then the other side of that bulkhead is hard plumbed to the return bulkheads on the tank.

Thanks! That’s what I wanted to know. It’s coming on Tuesday, I’m psyched.

Thanks @Mppp ! Do you all use cement on the drains, or just on the return lines? How’s the fit with the Fiji bulkheads under the tank?

I’m afraid I don’t know the answer to cement question as I had a friend put it together and seems there was enough Bulkhead room for him. Sorry not more help I just wasn’t going to try the plumbing myself as he has a ton of experience in trade/hobby.

UPS is laaaate, arghhhh! It shouldn't surprise me they managed to 'misplace' a 750lb freight shipment over the holiday weekend, but here we are.

ah bummer but I hear there pretty back up with most people staying in and ordering stuff online.
lets just hope it did not fall off the truck...
actually surprised it was shipped via UPS. I guess its only 3x2 tank but hopefully they crated it and not just boxed it.

I've been reading thru this thread as I'm also interested in the Fiji cube 81 for an upgrade to my biocube. It the perfect size for the space I have. Anyone have thoughts on Fiji cube quality as compared to IM nuvo 74, Red Sea 300xl, or Prostar 90 which are similarly sized rimless tanks?

And good luck with your delivery.

No rush you only have cycle time to wait on once you get it anyway :)

It was the thickness of the glass, decent reviews on the stand, small company and NOT a Red Sea which I read countless tank failures on FB. As far as the other name brands I just didn't see a lot of support or reviews (not as if FijiCube had a ton of reviews, but product price and some feedback on here I took the plunge and glad I did).

Thanks for your thoughts. I have time to mull it over, not ready for the jump yet. I kind of like the Fiji sumps too.

It’s actually 5x2... 750lb freight shipment. Crossing fingers for tomorrow! And I won’t have but 3 days to set it up after all the delays. Good thing I have cycled media and filters, and It’s a freshwater tank.

Well, it’s here and up and running. It’s an absolute beauty. Thick clear glass, clean black silicone, nice edges, solid cabinet. The sump is glorious. I’d recommend them in a heartbeat, just make sure you know what you’re doing (unlike me!)
