Hey all!

I have been considering getting a new tank, and looking at a few different options. Long story short, I have a space in my home that was originally built to hold a standard definition TV set, and I think it's now just screaming for an aquarium. I would need a 36" length for this space, and because plumbing a sump would be problematic, I'm looking for an AIO for this project.

I ran across the Waterbox 50.3 (49 gallon volume) AIO and asked about it last night, and another reefer here @swinglow1321 suggested the Planet Aquariums Tideline 47 gallon lagoon tank. This tank would fit my space nicely, and it's half the cost of the Waterbox:

https://planetaquariums.com/tideline-aio/

I am interested in this tank, but after doing a bit of research tonight, I discovered that some owners didn't like the fancy return nozzle, though I read that can be fix or replaced rather easily (though no one said how). And more importantly, I found a few owners of the smaller Tideline tanks complaining that the water didn't flow correctly. They reported that it was as if the water could not flow through the filter chambers (even when all media was removed) quickly enough, and the return pump section would always run low. Some said this was true even when they swapped the pump out for something even less powerful. I'm more inclined to replace the included pump with a more powerful one, so I'd like to hear from anyone who has owned this tank if this is really true.

Does anyone have any feedback on these tanks, and specifically the 47 gallon lagoon version?

Also, it's looking like the only way to get one is through a listed brick-and-mortar dealer? Does anyone ship these tanks? I had one store very close to me come up as a dealer, the next closest was 170 miles way in the next state. The local store that came up for me is an old mom-and-pop shop, now run by their son, and only open on Sundays. I don't have a whole lot of faith that they can get me this tank, but it's worth giving them a call tomorrow.

Thanks in advance for the help!

I do, seems like they upgraded the return to some odd metric locline, so I guess that’s better. I ended up just changing that over to a dual loc-line with random flow. Also replaced the ac pump with dc pump for better functionality. Also picked up the Kreative Reefer lid and media baskets.

Only been up a month, it’s cycled but fish are still in the QT tank and no coral yet.

I was able to pick mine up with a bit of a drive, but if not I would have looked for another option with the shipping cost being high. I had limited space so many of the water box / innovative marine AIO’s wouldn’t fit around this size.

@Fish Fan also check out this post, was helpful for me.

The 3 main things I did to make this tank 1,000x more enjoyable were:
1. Replace the pump with the DC1500 here https://www.hygger-online.com/product/hygger-dc-frequency-water-pump/
2. Replace the socks with these https://kreativereefer.com/products/tideline-aio-47-lagoon-media-basket
3. Replace the random flow nozzle with the loc line adapter linked in this thread

Do those 3 things and the tank will transform. :)

Another thing I did that isn't required is to replace one of the baffle sections in the back with a refugium with chaeto and a submersible refugium light.

Are you running an ATO ? I just picked up the Tunze 3155 but haven’t gotten around to installing. Manually adding a bit of RO water daily

The rear chambers basically being split in 2 ( the aio part is setup as 2 separate tanks almost ) doesn’t work well the water levels are inconsistent a lot ( basically the aio part is horribly designed )

I ordered one through my LFS. Waited months. LFS could rarely get planet to pick up the phone, always got empty promises and mixed answers when they were on the phone. Ended up upgrading to a waterbox that LFS had in stock. No looking back.
They would never answer an email from me regarding any questions on tank (think I attempted to email three times), and they rarely even answered my LFS calls. I wouldn’t recommend from my experience. Imagine if you have a problem. It’s gonna be crickets.

Yep, I have the tank and sent in some questions about parts, crickets, just like you said. So if you can’t manage on your own then probably steer clear. I had a dimension limit and this fit perfectly, the only reason why I went tideline. That said it’s been fine, no problems at all.

Wanted to share my wife’s 47gal she’s had running for 8 months now. As soon as we got it setup the 3 recommended upgrades is what she did. The return pump is the Hydor Seltz D 750GPH and it work perfectly. We’ve never had any issues with an uneven amount of water in the back.

I also don’t have any issues with rear water levels, been no problem at all. What did you use for your dual nozzle setup? I did the same but parts didn’t fit exactly how I wanted and would like a cleaner setup eventually.

We use the dual random flow generators 1/2 flex series nozzles from VCA. With the single head return adapter from Madd Reef. Works really well. The adapter fits snugs and holds the dual returns great.
