What flow do you have it in ?
My torch had stubby/short tentacles in high flow but when I moved it low flow it has long tentacles

Age-1½ years
Been in tank for about 2 months
Light-currently 1 t5 bulb and two ai primes
55 gal tank
Parameters- 5nitrate, phosphate= 2ppm, alk= 8.2

Some torches actually have short tentacles while others have long tentacles. Have you seen a picture of it with long tentacles?

Well I bought while it was dying so it looked like it was about to die but it made a come back so its tentacles were almost gone

They need to repair themselves before they can grow. As long as your see forward progression I wouldn't worry about it.
