I read a post a few weeks ago where someone mentioned that their lfs has a tester that you put a sample in and it gives a printout of all the specifics, ca, alk, mag,, ph, nitrate and so on. Anyone ever seen one of these? Person mentioned they charge around $5/test. Curious to figure out what it is and can't find it online.

My LFS offers this too and correct, it is the API Aquaspin. They charge $15 at mine LOL

They came out to set up ATK, Trident and Dos and he ran it for me for free. Which is nice :)

I think you are thinking about the API Aquaspin
That probably is it, pretty cool machine. Wonder what one costs and how it works compared to like a trident that is dosing reagents into a sample.

I may have been wrong on price, I remember it seemed very cheap to me for what it did.

It's around $1000. And it's not really accurate on phosphate too. Only goes to 0.1.
So.. I ran my water on my LFS with that machine cause I was curious about it. $5

I dont think it can work with Apex.
It's just a test machine no dosing or taking live sample from tank.

Its amazing how this hobby has grown, 20 yrs ago I was using the cheap api tests and comparing the vial to their chart. Think the only other option back then was salifert. Can't wait to see what changes in the next 10 yrs.

Agreed! I'm so glad I have the technology behind my back. Using API Spin while Trident regeants and Dos are getting professionally configured. Am I spoiled or am I spoiled lol
