I was given a jellyfish tank as a gift that looks like this (though this isn't the actual brand I have).

It's about 5 gallons and I'm having trouble deciding on a reliable ATO for it, not to mention the tank's circular shape may be a challenge for putting in an ATO...
I tried keeping jellyfish for about a year then gave up. There’s really not many additional things you can do to the tanks. I tried moon jellies and blue cannonballs. They are so delicate and fragile that even cleaning the tank can damage them. All I can recommend is constant monitoring dedicated water changes. Feeding freshly hatched baby brine shrimp makes a difference (less waste on the bottom) but be warned. It’s a lot t of work and for what they cost, they don’t live long. Gotta admit tho, I loved just sitting and watching them in the evening. It was very relaxing and they are cool. Good luck

How much evaporation is there really in that tank? Is an ATO absolutely necessary?

dang what a coincidence, I was waiting for the Duetto webpage to load when you posted that. It looks tempting - small, hopefully quiet as it'll be in my bedroom. Might be a winner...
I've been running a Duetto for 4 years, I did have to replace the sensor about a year ago, that was $65 I think.

I was thinking that too. I don’t think it will evap much. My biocube doesn’t evap much with the lid shut.
Mainly I don't trust myself to be diligent about watching the water level. I doubt it will evaporate much either, but I'd rather automate it so I protect the tank from... my laziness.

I did that too but even with my ATO and door open I hardly need it. Keeping door open keeps the temp down. Which cooling is what I would be thinking of for that. Does it have a cooling fan?

I'm in Canada so I won't need cooling for a while, but it's something I've been thinking about as summers are getting hot here.

It has barbs that I have attached the an external filter... I wonder if I can daisy chain a tiny chiller and the external filter?
