Who’s currently aquaculturing a variety of:

• Photosynthetic sponges
• Photosynthetic gorgonians
• Rarer inverts
• Cleaner shrimp, etc.?

I’d love to support them and give them kudos. It’s hard to find a reliable source of these that are 100% aquacultured.

Good question. ORA does a few thing (sometimes available from Live Aquaria), including one type of gorgonian. I've gotten a few captive bred organisms through my local reef club but not many. A lot of these organisms are hard to raise and the increased price makes it non-profitable. The ones I'm surprised at are the lack of photosynthetic sponges and gorgonians. I have both and mine grow well enough that I think they'd be easy to aquaculture.

After some looking... Pacific East Aquaculture does seem to sell way more cultured gorgonians than the vast majority. Kudos! Very cool. And, they’ve got one species of blue/purple photosynthetic plating sponge.

So that’s one.

I just got a coral order from them, was an awesome experience! Great vendor!
