Hello all.

so I’ve always had either pre built or custom aquarium stands for various large tanks. I am however setting up a nano tank mr Aqua 22 gallon and want it to go on this console table. Of course I know it won’t actually hold 22 gallons and I could always lower the water line slightly however it will be sumpless so having a little more water volume over the 12 gallon version will go a long way.

solid wood legs with m6x60mm bolts in each foobut the rest is compressed wood. Im not worried about water spillage as I’m a clean freak and wipe all my tanks down daily. Aesthetics play a big part here so changing the table isn’t really an option.

questions:

do you think the structural integrity will hold the tank?

should I reinforce it somehow? However I can sit on it with no issues.

gheez that’s nice :)
compressed wood anywhere on that stand needs a water seal, trust me on that...
I got nothing other than that
shoot man keep on keeping on
added, just from looking at it maybe run a horizontal 1x2 furring strip along the back top. Stainless screws with maybe glue. On the inside brace up the corners with angle iron with holes (sold as corner braces) ...
...and please any exposed compressed wood needs sealing if it’s anywhere near a humid sw tank

ok cool. I don’t mind doing a seal on it just to be on the safe side. I just don’t want it breaking with a 22 gallon on top haha

A 22g tank should be around 200 lbs. So just have a 200 lb person sit on it and give it a little wiggle..... you should be able to tell if its going to be sturdy enough or not. My guess is that it will be just fine.
