I don’t have a controller on my system so no need for one. I do have a couple WiFi outlets on return pump and skimmer that I use to feed my corals.

I have a 10” Amazon fire tablet. I wanted an iPad but I didn’t want to spend $300 just for that. So far I kind of regret it. Maybe it’s something I’m doing wrong but I can’t do any programming on the tablet. I can only do stuff like adjust the sliders and activate feed modes. I still have to pull out my phone when I add or change programming things. Kind of defeats the purpose of having it.

I have an Amazon Kindle hooked up to monitor and run the features of the Apex. Slowly adding controls that will benefit the tank quality and the ease of management.

Although I do still run the apex display, I also have a screen mounted above the tank to access apex fusion. Initially I used a cheap fire tablet, but after two of those failed I went to an iPad mini and then to a full sized iPad. I have it mounted with the smart cover so I can put it to sleep during the night. None of these tablets are designed to be on 24/7/365. I replicated the alarms from the apex display with a series of colored lights and buzzers.

I have been researching this a couple days now. Anyone have any recommendations for a touchscreen monitor that runs off a HDMI Android box?

I have the Apex display Velcro-ed to the front of my stand and a laptop at the couch running Fusion, 20ft away, where I spend most of my time. ;Couchpotato (back issues) I'm not a control freak...really. Okay, maybe a little. :)

Funny You mentioned 24/7/365 - my Ipad HAS been on 24/7/365 for 4+ years - on that note I bought a pair of Ipad Minis off Ebay for $300 for the pair, so I do have a spare.

That's good to know in the event I repeatedly forget to close the cover .....

I have an Apex controller mounted inside the stand door but I would hardly call it a display. I can monitor/control the apex from my phone and my home office computer.
