My coral tank layout is made up of dead coral skeletons.
I assembled a large table coral base with a variety of coral skeletons. So far, the coral is growing actively without any problems.
I'm sure you'll have a dead coral skeleton in your tank that will be part of your layout before you know it!
You can use it in various ways depending on your ideas, so why don't you create an aquascape with coral skeletons too!

Lots of coral skeletons in the tank! I love the color and the look of them. Not ready to add the live coral yet.
There's blue ridge, red pipe organ, elk horn, stag horn, fire, and a large table along with a slipper coral skeletons.

That's a very fun tank! Are blue ridge and red pipe organ the original color of the coral?Or is it coloring? Those colors are so bright!

I have a 260 that crashed 6-7 years ago when it was first switched to LEDs and was chock-full of colonies that I just revamped around a year ago, so almost the whole scape is dead acros and monti caps. The acro colonies are great for placing frags and the like

It's surprisingly common to find cases of dead coral in aquariums that have been left in the layout. You are right. Coral skeletons are a great way to put a frag down!
