Aquatic Life T5 Hybrid with Kessil AP700

Glad I found this thread! Do I need the Kessil hanging kits with this fixture? Or can I mount them to it?

Ap700 hanging kit is not necessary. The aquatic life comes with a hanging kit and the ap700 mounts to brackets that comes with the aquatic life

Awesome! Any certain timer to use for the T5s? This will be my first real lighting setup for the tank. Think I’ll need a fan in my canopy? The right side shelf has an opening above to the tank.

Just your standard on-off timer. I ran mine for 8 hours and had the ap700 run for 10 hours. Ap700 would kick on and ramp up for an hour and then the t5s would kick on for 8 hours and then the t5s would kick off akd the ap700 would ramp down to off for an hour not a whole lot of heat generated, but a fan wouldnt be a bad idea.

One thing about these fixtures that I haven’t seen brought up yet. (I run the 24 inch model with a radion). The power cords come out of the opposite ends of the t-5 fixtures. There are a few videos floating around that show how to rectify. May not seem like a big issue but the power cords aren’t that long. Had a couple of cocktails so I hope this makes sense!

Had to replace cord with 12 footer to reach, 8ft is fine for 1 but to route the other nned more

These are the par numbers for my tank. Lighting is 2 kessil ap700’s with 6 48 in t’5 (ati bulbs). Tank Is 30 inches deep the lights are 7 inches off the water

Is there a tank mounted option for a standard 120 reef tank that I can use with my 2 ap700's, or is it all dyi. I really don't care for hanging fixtures and I do not have a good.

Anybody use the slight defuser. If so did you bump up the intensity to get the par back to where 8t was before.

Anyone know what size screws are needed to use the AP700 with the Aquatic life Hybrid. Sorry if someone else already posted this but I didn't see it.

I think they're #10-32. And get a flat edge screw, as opposed to the countersunk ones that come with the Kessil fixture.

You can always take the Kessil screw to a local Home Depot/Lowes. They have charts with all the screw sizes. Just see which one fits.

What is everyone setting the AP700 intensity to? I just ordered the 48" white version and cant wait to get this bad bot setup with my AP700. I currently have the AP700 ramping to 70%.
