It's not. Example

I go to walmart and buy 18 packs of pencils, and get 18 entries with the serial number of each specific pencil
You go to walmart and buy 18 tvs , and get 18 entries with the serial number of each specific tv

I win the raffle based on the fact that I bought 18, $1 items that you were never even considering buying, eliminating you from the raffle already.

Instead of us both getting 18 entries that are equal (our names) and that being drawn. Neither of us were eliminated because we bought a different item.

It actually is. If you were a person that only ever picks heads in a coin flip, you still just have a 50/50 shot at winning. The raffle was done using a RNG that picked 1/1400ish numbers. If you simply re-roll for unbought coral, it is effectively the same thing as if you put in your name X amount of times in the raffle for every coral you bought.

Thank you for all the feedback. Maybe next time we will do 2 grand prizes. One the way we did in this sale and then one for the person that spent the most.

We appreciate the comments and are always looking to improve our process for the next sale in October.

But you are giving a value outside of a name to a raffle ticket.

Imagine someone who buys a $1500 coral wins the raffle. How many people were going into the sale with the intentions of buying a $1500 coral? 5?

That means all but 5 people were eliminated from the raffle. PERIOD.

Yes, there's a chance it lands on a $10 coral, and 100 people have a chance to win, but the person who bought only the $1500 coral wasn't one of them.

If you use names, you are not eliminating anyone based on their coral choice.

I did it... I snagged the micro..... Im nervous and excited.
Don't be nervous.

Let's see, reasons to buy ARC's UFO Micros
- easier and faster multiplying than lordhowensis, but brighter and takes up less space
- can grow next to lords without fighting
- lineage is assured, he got them from my colony, lineage is: fragglereef (og owner) - my old friend Huey- me - Sanjay - back to me - ARC
