I'm thinking about incorporating some decor into my tanks along with the live rock.

Are all aquarium ornaments (like the ones sold in LFS/Petco/Petsmart/etc) also saltwater safe? Does the saltwater corrode them or something in a way freshwater doesn't? [emoji848]

Most are either ceramic or plastic.....should be fine. Maybe hesitate if it's some mystery material.

We've used all manner of fake plants on QT's a lot and the only "wear" is from the repeated bleachings during maintenance. ;)

Thanks, @mccarroll! That makes a lot of sense. [emoji106]

There are some materials that will leach harmful chemicals. the decor sold for freshwater tanks are types of plastics, ceramics or glass, and should be fine for reef tanks.
