Are Skimmers A Must, Really important, Not Necessary For Long Term Anemone Success?

I have been going back and forth on removing the filter sock and adding in a skimmer in a IM Nano 14g anemone tank. The tank houses a carpet, BTA's, flowers and a couple clowns which as been up for 2 months now. I run carbon, and a sock. I was thinking to help with the possibility of allelopathy adding in a skimmer.. Is it going to do what I need it to or just be more work, I'm unsure. No3 and po4 is not a worry with only two clowns. The skimmer addition would solely be for the possibility of allelopathy / removing "toxins" that anemones release from inflating and deflating. Since the system is "small" for anemone standards, would a skimmer be a good addition in place of a sock?

Not necessary. I am speaking particularly for bubble tips.

For reference, I run carbon, socks, and a refugium
Do you have different Morphs of btas in the system? I have two kinds in there, risky.

I have the same question as OP. I bought a skimmer for my tank, but not sure if it would help any with allelopathy?

With a 14 gallon it will be real easy to do water changes. So skimmers won't help that much. If you had the room or budget I would say get a refugium because it works better and copepods.

No necessary, but good source for aeration and a good ph bump

Does a skimmer give a pH bump? Not doubting just trying to learn as I go. My reason for asking is because I tested pH last week on 3 of my tanks. I normally don't test but I figured I would since it had been quite a while. Two were at 8.2 and one at 8.3. Only one tank has a skimmer and it was one at 8.2 so for me I'm not seeing a noticeable difference in pH.

Testing with a probe would be your most accurate option.
