Generally I wouldn't. If you buy frozen food like Rods food, you can feed that. Turn off the pumps and drop it in with a turkey baster.

If not buy a non-cooked shrimp at the food store and dice it up to feed. Mix it up with some other things that are fresh also like octopus, oyster, clam and squid and have some for a long time if you freeze it. That's what I feed mine to encourage growth and splitting. They love it.

I know folks who grow bubble tip anemones like weeds and never directly feed them.
