Are these pineapple sponges? And do I care if they are in my tank?

Any help identifying is appreciated. I noticed them starting to pop up all around town. I wonder if it is anything I need to be concerned about it in any way.

thanks for any help.

Thet are and should and will dissolve in time. They feed off algae and favor darker low flow areas of tank such as your setting, overflows and sumps.
In new/newer systems, they form from silicates from new sand and dry rock. They can also emerge in established tanks if your di resin is leaking or expired in your RODI unit. Harmless they are and again will self-dissolve
