Sorry for the bad photo - was above the water at my lfs. If these are spiderman zoas and you have some, how do they look in white light? Colorful, completely bland, somewhere in between? So many zoas look great under actinic, but completely boring under white light. I can't find a white light picture of them online. Thanks!

Thanks for the tag, zoa lovers unite! From the blurry photo, I do see striations on the body. My hunch tells me they're actually WWC Twizzlers taken under blue photos.

Here's a photo of WWC Twizzlers under a mixed spectrum. Their body is a scarlet red with deep blue striations and metallic orange tips. They look amazing under all spectrums, but blue LEDs really bring out those metallic hues. A more white spectrum will make the reds and orange a more warm coloration. But the blue coloration isn't the primary coloration if that's what makes them attractive to you.

Here's a photo when I was using an older camera without a porthole, just top down like your photo. Looks a bit more similar to the photo posted above.

The original Spiderman Zoanthids are very small, almost micro. They have a solid blue base with no patterns with a metallic red/ orange banding on the skirt. Here's a photo of them for reference:

Unfortunately I don't see the original Spiderman Zoanthids for sale as often anymore. If you're looking for the originals, hopefully someone watching this thread will chime in!

Thanks so much for the info and pictures! I wasn't looking for that one in particular, but they got a few at my LFS and I thought if they looked good under white light I might get them. What I am most interested in is finding some zoas that look really nice under white light. I have Goblin's Fire and Purple Monsters, which I really like, but I'm not sure what else to consider. The twizlers look amazing. Do they look similar in white light? Also, Do you have any suggestions? Thanks for any help!

You're welcome! If you like them, definitely grab them. I think you'll be pleased with them.

Plenty of zoanthids look great under white lights. Do you not run any blues in your lights?

It all really depends on what kind of zoanthids you like. If you're just starting a collection, here's some pieces I took the time to put together. I chose these because they're not too expensive and shouldn't be too difficult to find online or locally. They're about the same care level as your Goblins on Fire and Purple Monsters as well.

The photos I chose should also give you an idea of them under a more white spectrum. My photos are taken under Kessil LED mixed spectrum as a disclaimer, but they're not 100% blue. Hopefully by white lighting you mean white, and not like 10k yellow!

Scrambled egges, orange oxides, utter chaos and aoi look really nice under whiter lights.

Thanks again! Right now I use the LED lights that came with my Fluval Evo 13.5 nano. I imaging I will upgrade before too long. They run at about 14,000 K on white. I have the tank behind me all day at work and don't run the lights on just blue the whole time.
