Just a dumb question, are we called aquarists? I looked it up and some said aquarists are fish keepers and others said it means someone taking care of fish as a job.

If you own and manage an aquarium to sustain fish, plants and other life- you’re a hobbyist and aquarist

The definition of aquarists is 'a person that keeps an aquarium' - whether its a job or not.

I guess if we're not getting paid, we could be considered amateur aquarists. I did sell some frags, plecos and snails to the LFS for store credit. Does that make me a professional? Kinda makes me sound important.

I’m certainly not an optometrist or anesthesiologist so I’t’s either an Aquarist or Mad Scientist ;)

Why does it have to be one or the other?!? It is quite possible that I am an aquarist and a mad scientist!!! :)
