I honestly can't tell if OP is trolling or not.. leaning towards yes.

Somebody thought up your crazy UV filter

Somebody thought up your crazy Gfo

Somebody thought up your crazy skimmer

Somebody thought up your crazy fill in the blanks All day long.

The sort of hubris that would be required to think that we know absolutely everything about this hobby TODAY is astonishing.

Anyone that doesn't believe a single person can change the world clearly never ate a medium rare bat.

I'm honestly shocked at how little data we have regarding a corals lighting preference. We know high, low, med but what does that do in terms of useable par? We know Leptos love low light... How low? What level is perfect? Could be a relatively easy experiment with someone with disposable income and several tanks.
Also, I'd like to see more innovation in the equipment side of things. We're very much like a car industry, where we iterate the same platform into oblivion. What about a completely new form of filtration? Skimmers have barely changed and algae scrubbers are hardly new technology. I suppose there are only so many ways to do things.
One of the most promising sectors to me at the moment is 3d printing. So many creative solutions being made for minor things. Someone may end up creating a hit.

OP here. I was not attacking ingenuity that furthers this hobby.

I was more pointing out that we all play INSIDE an understood sandbox.....

.... and to be honest, I've read some really stupid ideas that are way outside the sandbox.

PERFECT EXAMPLE: some dude wants to paint his LR with Krylon Fusion spray paint.

That's the kind of crap I'm targeting in this post....

But again, what do I know? Lol

Nothing? Not even a quick touch of a tentacle
My female will actually suck on the tentacles. The 4 anemone surround their area. They refuse to just go for it though

Noop .... more than happy to relax on my couch, listen to some 70s progressive rock and poke holes in others ‘groundbreaking’ ideas LOL. Occasionally one IS interesting, though many are truly stupid. Scrubbing bubbles you know who you are ....
Hey now! I scrub every green bubble that I see in my tank ;)

My 2 newest additions. The lanthanum chloride settling pond and the DIY nitrate reactor.
