I don't know if you will be interested (as this reef is in Europe) but I decided to share my project in this forum.

So my background is that this project is 4th for me. Previously I had:

1) 120 liter reef tank - LPS and softies
2) 250 liter reef tank - SPS and LPS
3) 140 liter LPS and softies tank with seahorses

And now there is only one - 610 liters + 240 liters (sump).

2015-01-05 I've started new bigger and better tank building.
Planned size 160 cm x 70 cm x 55 cm h with external balcony, Optiwhite glass.
Sump: 150 cm x 60 cm x 45 cm h with sock mounting (4 pcs.) and 4 divisions.
Frame: 160 cm x 70 cm x 82 cm h

Experimental option was chosen: half live rock / half reef ceramics.

I've managed to get high quality Reef Ceramic.

Reef design with such ceramic is awesome.

After getting all the pieces, bridges, caves I got this design:

Filled the tank with salt water (used almost 35 kg of Preis salt). Total water volume ~850 liters in the whole system.
