I have had a couple of Matted filefish in the past. I purchased and really small guy. I have an outbreak of Aiptasia with the system.

In the past I have read from others that their filefish were not eating Aiptasia in the tank. I started to think, is it because of the size and age that matted filefish do not eat Aiptasia or do some matted filefish not eat apitasia?

I think its size vs Aiptasia. The bigger they are the bigger the Aiptasia the eat. I've always had luck with them it's hit or mis with majanos. Usually when the supply gets thin they get the boot because they find a taste for coral. Never the ugly corals you've been beating back with fire though.

I have not ever had the problem with the file fish eating coral.
