Just a couple of phone snaps, sorry for the terrible photos but wanted to show 62 days worth of growth and color using ATI Essentials. Photo from October 5th and December 6th.

I have everything I need to start it, have it mixed etc. I just need to get time to install the new dosing containers and remount my doser somewhere since I had to expand it to 5 heads since I was just doing 2 part before.

We are working on getting something more substantial, but you can start here just to poke around.

I've been running ATI essentials for 2 months.

    Calc 465
    Alk 7.7
    Mag 1275
    Nitrate 10
    Salinity 1.025
T5 lighting with 280 par hitting my SPS and 100-150 hitting my LPS.
    Gyre Xf250 and Mp40 in a Reefer 350

I'm getting great growth on many corals. Garf bonsai showing 1-2 mm of growth per day.

I see no reason for a water change and am very happy with the results. Will be ordering my next batch soon.

You have photos? If not start taking some!

Have you done at ATI Labs ICP-OES test yet?

I can't seem to get a good picture with my camera, but here it is.

Yes, I plan to do an ICP test soon.

Is that an Elegance in the rock on the right?

What LED bulbs are you using in that DSP and how do they work? Are you able to ramp them up and down or do you just turn them on and off?

    Nope, it's a torch coral.

My lighting setup is a 36" 8 bulb ATI dimmable with a blue XHO reefbrite strip over a reefer 350.

The bulbs from front to back are:

    ATI Blue +
    ATI True Actinic
    BioTek Marine BTM5HO 20K LED
    ATI Blue +
    ATI Coral Plus
    BioTek Marine BTM5HO 20K & UV LED
    ATI True Actinic
    ATI Blue +

The LED tubes are listed as dimmable, but I'm not dimming them, I've never tried to dim them actually. My schedule is all the LEDS come on for 2 hours before channel 2(all the T5's) ramp up for 30 min and stay on for 6.5 hours at 100% then they ramp down 30 min and the LEDS stay on for 2.5 hours before turning off. The fixture is 8 inches above the water line and the 3 acros in the middle of the picture are getting about 280 PAR. I imagine they're getting hit with a lot more light than that since the blue spectrum from the Actinic bulbs are not accurately measured by a PAR meter.

If you needed more PAR you can always go all T5. I cannot say for certain specifically with BioTek Marine, but currently all LED T5 bulbs we have tested are a trade off for about 30% PAR for lifespan.

ATI Essentials is a simple 3 part dosing system that doses 28 elements to your tank in the proper ratios for coral usage. No water changes are needed (usually) and all essential elements are included for coral growth.

Does equal parts of 3 solutions
Test Alkalinity, if it goes up dose less. If it goes down, dose more.
Once your daily consumption is discovered, you only need to test alkalinity periodically.

Every few months you can use ATI Labs which is an ICP-OES (fancy talk for quarter million dollar testing equipment) which gives a results page giving you guidance on any tweaks needed for your tank in particular. It is operated by a PhD who reviews and notes each test as needed.

That's the brief outline which covers most of what you need to know. Happy to answer any specifics :)

Yea, I kind of figured they weren't very effective PAR-wise in comparison to T5. What do you mean 30% though? Do you mean they're generally 30% weaker than the traditional T5 tube?

So this takes the place of other dosing parts, ie Red Sea A, B and C ?
