Haha, well I'm kind of embarrassed to be posting this, but I figure we can all learn from my mistakes or at least just be entertained. So, a few weeks ago, I noticed my alkalinity was dropping. I started to increase my dosing of it to try and slow it's decline down and keep it more steady. It slowed down and settled at around 7.4 which was fine. However, my calcium was not dropping at all and even sometimes seemed like it was rising. Well, I'll get straight to it. I thought the #2 bottle was alkalinity..... it's not. #2 is calcium and trace elements like the manual says. So, I had been accidently turning up my calcium dosing when I didn't need to. I think the ICP results clearly show that. However, it's still useful to see my testing kits compared against the results the ICP results showed. I think I can fix this by bringing calcium down slowly now. My testing equipment: Salifert: Calcium, Nitrate, Magnesium Hanna: Phosphate, Alkalinity Refractormeter calibrated using calibration fluid I bought on amazon.
