what chamber should the ATO be in for the IM 25 lagoon? from left to right I have a media basket, marine pure balls, return pump and heater, protein skimmer, and adding media reactor to last chamber as soon as skimmer is broken in. Only spots I can put it is the chamber with the marine pure (where it is currently) or the middle chamber.

It is really a preference and volume thing. However, most people recommend the return pump chamber.

The logic behind is two fold. First - Your ATO sensor will find out first when the water on that chamber reaches the level. Second - The return pump will pick it up and mix it with the tank water faster than if it landed on say the heater chamber or if it lands on the skimmer chamber, it may make the skimmer go crazy.

Just my two cents here. Good luck.

Yup. Put the ATO level sensor in the return section. The return section is the only section where the water level will fluctuate due to evaporation.
