ATS and refugium on one tank

i wouldn't recommend this to a newer reefer if that is in fact the case. with how effective equipment is these days its too easy to bottom out nutrients and end up with dinos that become a bigger problem than the nutrients were to begin with.

Fair enough. So just run the ATS? Only wanted the fuge for pods

Pick one and go with it. Fuges are good at controlling nutrients and you get the pod housing.

It’s what I went with. And one less piece of equipment to worry about
Also very true. The upside is my ATS is rated for a tank smaller then what I have. So nutrients shouldn't get too low. I'll have to see what I can do.

It is definitely possible to do both depending on the amount of nutrients you have. As others have mentioned just be careful the ATS doesn't out compete your macroalgae!
