avast swabbie improvement ideas? Hate the flimsy wiper blade attachment.

Has anyone found a way to get the wiper blade on the Avast Swabbie to attach more securely to the slotted rotating shaft? I find that the way it is designed with the screw passing through the slot in the shaft (as pictured) is very weak and unreliable. Frankly I can't see why anyone thought this would work well, besides obviously being cheap and easy to make.

I replaced the standard nut with one of those locking nuts (the ones with a nylon insert. Keeps the blade tight to the rotating shaft.

thats a great idea, i bet with better hardware it would at least stay still. Maybe even some concave pieces to compress the shaft instead of splitting it apart.

I know I need top-grade stainless steel to make it last. How do you guys find the best reef safe stainless hardware?
