Join us for our first meeting of 2019! Please note that some things have changed for this year!

For every meeting, the first hour will be a short presentation/discussion/demo, and the second hour will feature a coral auction.

This meeting we'll be conducing a presentation on reef tank pests! What to look for, how to avoid them, and what to do if you get them.

For the auction afterwards, please be a member in good standing prior to 2:30PM. If you do not a bidder number from the past please arrive by 2:30 to get one. This meeting DOES require club dues.

Location:
Broken Yolk Cafe
2034 E Southern Ave.
Mesa, AZ 85204

When:
January 26th 3:00pm to 5:00pm
Coral auction begins at 4:00pm

SELLERS……Please list your Bidder number and up to 10 corals for the auction with the starting bid. Pictures are encouraged. You have until the Thursday night before the auction at 9pm to list. Please have your corals available for the 2:30 viewing.

There might be some PROP frags available; they'll be listed below if we have any.

Please NO posting a reserved spot, those post will be ignored. If you have your list and are waiting on pictures that is fine. Please also try not to add or change any items if possible. This is very helpful when putting the auction program together. We look forward to another great auction!

I can also bring a bunch of Chaeto with amphipods and copepods in them. At least I see them in my sump so I assume they are also in the Chaeto. Let me know. Free of course.

Yes sir. I have one saved for you. On the house of course. Brad told me it came from you originally. It is a nice coral. I really like it.

I sure hope there are more sellers because it wouldn't be fun for me if I am the only one.

Looks like it is just you Van. I can add on if anyone else decides to join in.

Here's the list. Print one, and bring it.

What happened to all the sellers. There were so many cool frags for sale when I was travelling.

I had prepped 15 frags but I heard they canceled the 19th meeting so I sold them all. Then this meeting was announced. I could bring a few cyphastrea to auction but that’s it.

Sorry for the meeting move. Bring the frags you have if you want. I can add them in.

@Sisterlimonpot I wish I knew who you were in person as I was there too. I would have liked to hear how your DIY dosing pump is going for you. I read through your threads and liked what you built. Maybe next time I can introduce myself, I was sitting in a booth on the left side with my 19 yo son.

Also, thanks to Jason and Hunter for all your work!

I was in a middle table, sitting with Ken (KenO).

The pump is still going strong, I need to pull it out and run tests, I was supposed to do it at the 4 week mark, but I'm reluctant to take it off line..... But I will make a point to do it today and post results.

No need to pull it out if it's working good. Glad to hear it's still going strong. I recently "upgraded" a dead masterflex with new electronics/power supply.
The upgrade has a pwm controller with digital readout and 1% adjustability. I have a fascination with these pumps - I bet I have 10 of them in one form or another.

So do I, I try to keep my eye out for high end used or broken peristaltics but can't seem to find them.

I always thought that there were more applications for positive displacement pumps in the hobby. Outside of obvious reasons, I always wondered why we never seen a positive displacement return pump to combat against head pressure problems for those with basements. About 4 years back, I built a prototype of one that I wanted to tryout but never got that far with it.

As for pulling this guy out, I wanted to run a monthly test to see how accurate it is as it wears in.
