I have literally HUNDREDS of these that come out every night. They seem amazing for cleaning up algae because I’ve been trying yo grow some by dirtying my tank up a bit and can’t get a single little patch of anything to grow.

Anyway, I’m pretty certain that these are trochus... I only introduced trochus and nassaurius snails. I started with maybe 5 adult trochus and now I probably have... 30 or more? And I see them doing the nasty in the water more than I’d like... so I know that they’re breeding.

If these ARE trochus, why are most of them white? I assumed that they start off white and grow into their stripes, but I’ve also seen a handful of very small obviously trochus snails with very clear stripes.

I should also note that these snails do move just like trochus and have the same two antennae.

Oh dang I think you’re right! These guys alright to have around? They’re never out during the day, never see them on anything other than rocks.
Yeah, free Clean Up Crew. I notice mine stay in the same spot for a while and then slowly move around the area. I only see them at night too.

There's definitely a baby trochus in your last pic, but the rest look like limpets.

Your rock looks good. Lots of coraline, no big white patches. I wouldn't say there's any need to grow more algae, that looks fine just as-is.

So cute! Definitely a baby trochus in that last shot. Overall, I think you have a healthy batch of little snails.
