Have you ever seen a baby torch coral that was the result of spawning? A few months ago,
overnight we had a spawning event in one of our systems, unbeknownst to us.
Some time later, as the lights were going down one night, we noticed
there were bright neon green tentacles popping out from our substrate and live
rock in several areas. We collected them all up and put them in an area of one of
our holding tanks. Now, several months later, we have a few baby torch growing
up before our eyes! We're blessed to see such an occurrence in captivity! Here's
a few pics and links to some videos we posted on our Instagram and Facebook pages.
The highlight of our day is to check their progress and see how much they
continue to grow! The largest torch has a skeletal structure about the size of an eraser
at this point! Thanks for checking this out!

So awesome!! I have seen and heard of this a few times before.
I think with where we are in the hobby and with the equipment we now have, this will happen more often.
I know that @Thales is more of an SPS guy and does a TON of research about captive spawning, but LPS spawning is cool too.

Happened to me before. The baby torches is going to take a long time to grow out. It's been 2 years since mine spawn and it haven't even reach normal size yet. It's about 75% there.

We’ve had a few random spawning events involving Euphyllias at the shop resulting in larval settlement and growth into juveniles that we eventually ended up selling. It’s a really cool thing to witness.
