So for the past couple months I've had this lingering bacterial bloom that made my water cloudy, its receding now through heavy water changes but I was wondering what effect red sea NO3 PO4 X (or really any carbon dosing) would have
Ammonia 1.0 ppm
Nitrite 0.0 ppm
Nitrate 20 ppm

Carbon dosing is not what you want. If anything it might encourage the bloom you have.

Usually just waiting is the best option.

With 1.0 Ammonia, you are still in wait mode, correct?

Im still in waiting mode but i had to skip 2 of my past water changes so i suspect thats what that 1.0 ppm ammonia is from prior to that it was at a solid 0.0 ppm

Is there anything that can be done without a uv sterilizer?
Water changes. Time. Eventually it will eat all the excess ammonia and fade.

Are you using prime ? Or anything else? The ammoina reading is odd.
API?

And yes, stop the carbon dosing, look for dead snails.

Dome things you can do.

Algae reactor...a large one with a Kessil H380.

Add marine pure to your over flow or sump.

Decrease feedings and increase flow. Increase lighting

Also you need to have your water tested and QC your RODI system to see if its platforming correctly.

Ozone or UV.

If you have an organic from the environment, change your carbon and increase the amount by 20%

A polyfilters might give you a rough diagnosis.
