This tank will be a room divider and the overflow side of the tank will be slightly visible from our dining room. I did not want to look at PVC pipes on that side of the tank as that would have been an eye sore. So I decided on the internal overflow.

Same reason I went with on on my build. Not for my current house, but the next one....

Craig,

This is how you'll get it in the house. 6 People. 4 lifters with shoulder straps and two people guiding (one front and one back). It went very easy.
check this post https://www.reef2reef.com/forums/la...less-shallow-peninsula-reef-2.html#post433934

i got the straps from Northern Tool Company.

Thanks Bryan. I appreciate the link. I think mine may weight a bit more than yours so I may need 6 men with straps and 2 guiding. We'll see! Not looking forward to that part of it! lol

Craig, I bought a bunch of those heavy duty suction cups to move my tank. Your tank is probably about 1.5x the weight but it wasn't too hard to move my tank.

This is what I ordered.
Vacuum Suction Cup with metal body, handle and brass pump

It states it has a 100 pound vertical lifting capacity. That number is rated with a safety factor of 4. It should be able to do much more than 100 pounds vertical. I had 6 of them for my tank.

Looking sweet so far!

Do you have any pic's of your frag tank and the critters that are going to go in it?

Sure thing! This has been up and running for about 6-7 months. I only have 1 yellow tang in there. He seems to be quite happy to be by himself. So I haven't added to it. Sorry the pics are a bit washed out. I took these with just the LED's on - just happened to take these before the T5's came on. You get the idea though.

Thanks man! I have a 36" Reefbrite LED strip over it. I run that for an hour before the T5's come on. I don't run both at the same time as it's too much light. The 10-bulb ATI is ample and is raised up a good 14" above the tank.

Stocking

My current list of inhabitants in my 150g:

Vlamingi Tang (ruler of the tank) - 8-9"
Kole Tang - 4-5"
Tonga Sailfin Tang - 6-7"
Yellow Tang - 3"
2 x Yellow Coris Wrasses
Six line wrasse
3 x Bi-colored Damsels
Lawnmower Blenny
Flaming Hawkfish

All will be transferred to the new tank. I doubt I will add too many fish to the tank but I love Tangs and have a few ideas. I won't be adding all of these - just some thoughts. Some that I'm thinking about:

Black Tang (if I can find a small one)
Achiles Tang (I love them)
Blonde Naso Tang
Perhaps 4-5 smaller yellow tangs
Yellow Pyramid Butterflies (2-3)

I love wrasses too but I'm not sure I want to keep a screen over the tank. And I'm not going to chance it without one. But I look at some of the tanks on here with 8-9 wrasses and I love the look! I may change my mind.....we'll see.

Other than Sand-Sifting Starfish (2-3), there will be no other clean-up crew in there.

T. Biggums would go nuts in your frag tank! Reefbrites are too much fun.

Why no snails?

Well, I have some now and they are always falling over and they can't "right" themselves. If I'm out of town, they die and that's never good for nutrient levels. I keep my glass scraped daily and the tangs and blenny do a great job at cleaning off the rocks and Vortechs, so I just don't see the need for them. I spend more time turning snail shells back over than I do feeding my fish! lol

There's no harm in having them, but I'm gonna go without on this build.
